Can you apply the butyl rubber over wet or dry roof patch once the patch has seasoned?

I have applied Henry's wet or dry roof patch (definitely an oil based product) on some areas of my roof, but it's still leaking. I'd like to apply this liquid rubber over the entire roof. Will it adhere properly or do I need to do some prep work to the patched areas?

yes it can go directly over an oil based product in fact it can go directly over an asphalt or tar roof. No primer needed and it is a one coat application.  thank you
